Coaching Supervision
Supervision? I already have enough bosses!
We hear the word supervision, and it sounds like supervisor. I don’t know about you, but I am not looking for one more person who wants to tell me what to do. The good news is that when we use the word supervision in coaching, we are not talking about another layer of bureaucracy. It is something much better and more helpful.
You are invited to create intentional space to reflect on how you show up in your relationships, work, professional actions, and personal life. Wrestle with the deeper questions, consider strategy instead of tactics, identify the feelings and beliefs which undermine your efforts, consider ideas shared by a trained co-traveler, and emerge with more focus and clarity. Supervision, also sometimes known as reflective practice, helps us better fit into our roles, hones our skills, and helps us heal the wounds which hold us back.
Supervision is required for coaches in Europe, pastors in some denominations in the UK, and professionals in many fields around the world. You are invited to experience the benefits of supervision and be an even better version of yourself.
What is Supervision?
Supervision is not . . .
- Having another boss
- Reporting to another person
- More paperwork to complete
- Someone telling you what to do
- A punishment for the incompetent
- A luxury for the wealthy
Supervision is . . .
- An intentional space for reflection
- Viewing your world and work in new ways
- Being open to growth and change
- A step toward fully embracing your roles
- An opportunity to hone your skills
- A time for healing your wounds
